I'm really, really missing home (Olympia, Washington) the past few days. So much has been going on the past few weeks that I can't remember it all!
We've mainly just been visiting my mom's friends.
But last night is a totally different story...
We went to a mall in Austin which is 10 miles north of where we're staying. (Buda, Texas)
My mom needed to pick up her Mac from the apple store and I needed some clothes, sunglasses and the other kids needed some clothes and shoes. Because we haven't been having much luck with thrift stores lately. Well, Princess got her ears pierced! That's not the highlight though, just one. We were getting ready to leave, I was Sephora, and my mom was at Stride Rite with Discovery, Princess, and Inquisitive.
That's when we found out that there was a terrible storm going on, and there was a tornado.
Heading right for us. The mall was about to close anyway, but we go to the doors to go outside, and it is POURING down rain! Like, seriously. There was lightning and thunder, and it was super loud. I was like "Mom, we have GOT to go NOW" Because the other two kids? Were back at the house. (Camper)
She ran across the parking lot and got the car and drove up to where we were and I pushed all the kids in the car and jumped in. Then we started heading back.
And let me tell you, it was crazy. It was raining so hard that everyone was doing 35 on the freeway and had they're hazards on. It was insane.
We got back, grabbed Free Spirit, and Constant, and went over to the walmart with Clarissa, Josh and they're baby Lukin behind us. Because thats what the park host was telling everyone to do. Because its a bigger, more stable building, and would be safer if the tornado came through Buda. We ended up in the walmart for a while. My mom lightened the mood by helping the kids spend they're allowances. Constant was super excited about the star trek toys they had. Because we don't really shop at walmart..haha.
I was praying like I've never prayed before. That the tornado would go away, or be re directed. God answered my prayers, I think :) The tornado warnings expired a few hours later, it ended up going right around us! Whew. We were pretty freaked out.
It's supposed to be 102 degrees today!!! That's frickin' hawt. There isn't a pool here or anything.
We might just die. mhmm. ;)
